About IR SERVE:

IR SERVE is the infrared thermography brand of POWERSERVE Inc. - a Midwest-based corporation founded in 1994.

We are a team of service professionals serving a wide range of markets including equine, healthcare, commercial, industrial, residential and marine.  IR SERVE is based in Northern Illinois and geographically focused, primarily, on the Midwestern or Great Lakes region of the country.  However, we also provide infrared services to customers all around the country in conjunction with the electrical testing services offered through POWERSERVE Inc.

We are proud to be a part of the United Infrared Network - the world's largest network of multi-disciplined infrared thermographers.  We have been trained and certified in infrared technologies by the world-renowned Infraspection Institute and receive ongoing,  application-specific training through our United Infrared membership.  Utilizing state-of-the-art infrared equipment we are able to provide best-in-class results to our valued clients.

About IR Thermography:

Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to "see" and "measure " thermal energy emitted from an object. Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye; it's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat. Even very cold objects, like ice cubes, emit infrared. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot.

Infrared thermography cameras produce images of invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide
precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. Nearly everything gets hot before it fails, making infrared cameras extremely valuable diagnostic tools in many diverse applications. And as industry strives to improve manufacturing efficiencies, manage energy, improve product quality, and enhance worker safety, the practice of conducting periodic IR scans continues to grow.

Infrared Thermography (or, IR Scanning) is a fundamental component of any conscientious predictive maintenance (PdM) program.  As such, it is recommended and/or required by Codes & Standards, Insurance Carriers, Inspectors, Fire Depts and OEMs more than any other PdM technique.  The value of conducting periodic IR Scans has been proven time after time based upon early detection of mechanical, electrical, building envelope and process system anomalies.

While we perform the traditional IR predictive maintenance-type scans, we have also gained particular expertise in the areas of "On-Roof Infrared Moisture Surveys" and "Block Wall / CMU Construction Infrared Surveys".  These services are of high value to building owners, designers, general contractors, roofing consultants and roofing contractors.

Additionally, IR Thermography has gained its' rightful place alongside other traditional diagnostic technologies such as CT Scans, MRI, X-Rays, Ultrasound and others with respect to the treatment of humans and animals alike!

IR SERVE has made significant investments in these newer IR applications in order to provide our clients with the broadest array of infrared thermographic skills and results.  We are committed to the furthering of this technology through professional application and client enlightenment.

Thank you, very much, for your interest in IR SERVE professional infrared services!
